Industry Challenges

What cosmetic factories face

These are the four process problems most commonly reported by cosmetic OEM/ODM manufacturers — and the reason equipment specification matters as much as formulation.

01

Batch inconsistency erodes brand trust

Without vacuum emulsification and precise temperature control, cream texture varies batch to batch — triggering returns, failed retail QC, and brand credibility loss.

Solved by: KLM / KVM
02

Process water quality fails ISO 22716

Unfiltered water contains chlorine, bacteria, and mineral ions that destabilise emulsions, shorten shelf life, and fail EU microbiological limits. Purified water is mandatory.

Solved by: KM-RO
03

Manual filling cannot meet export compliance

Hand-filling creates fill-weight inconsistency and contamination risk. US and EU buyers increasingly require documented ±0.5% fill accuracy in supplier audits.

Solved by: KFM
04

Multi-vendor lines create integration failure points

Different PLCs, different service contacts, different spare parts. When one machine stops, the line stops. Single-source supply eliminates this risk entirely.

Solved by: Full Kosmix Line

How It Works

From water to finished product.

The Kosmix integrated cosmetic line follows the natural production sequence — each machine feeds directly into the next, sized and synchronized to your batch rate.

01
KM-RO

Water Purification

Reverse osmosis + UV sterilisation produces GMP-grade process water at <10 μs/cm conductivity, compliant with ISO 22716 and EU Cosmetics Regulation.

02
KLM / KVM

Vacuum Emulsification

High-shear homogeniser under vacuum produces stable, air-free emulsions. PLC recipe storage for up to 99 formulas. CIP-ready 316L stainless vessel.

03
KFM

Automatic Filling

Servo-driven piston or peristaltic filling into bottles, jars, tubes, or pouches. ±0.5% fill accuracy, no-container no-fill detection, auto-reject.

04
KCM + KTM

Capping & Labeling

Torque-controlled rotary capping followed by self-adhesive labeling with ±0.5 mm precision. Vision QC system rejects non-conforming containers inline.

Compliance & Certification

Equipment your auditors will approve.

Selling cosmetics into the EU, US, or UK means your manufacturing equipment must meet the same compliance bar as your formula. Kosmix machines are designed with regulatory requirements built in — not bolted on.

CE Marking ISO 9001:2015 ISO 22716 GMP 316L SS Certified IQ / OQ Documentation FDA 21 CFR Compatible

What's included in the CE documentation package

CE Declaration of Conformity, Technical Construction File, Risk Assessment, electrical and pneumatic schematics, EN 10204 3.1 material certificates for all 316L contact parts, and full Operations & Maintenance manual. IQ/OQ protocol templates provided for GMP validation.

GMP-aligned equipment design

No dead legs in pipework, mirror-polished contact surfaces (Ra ≤0.4 μm), CIP/SIP capability, and full traceability of contact-part materials — meeting ISO 22716 requirements throughout the production line.

🇪🇺

EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) 1223/2009

Material traceability, mirror-finish contact surfaces, and GMP-aligned documentation support Article 8 manufacturing compliance for products sold in the European market.

🇺🇸

US FDA 21 CFR Part 700–740

IQ/OQ documentation structured to support FDA cosmetic GMP inspections. The KM-RO system produces USP Purified Water quality for process water compliance.

📋

ISO 22716 — Good Manufacturing Practice

Equipment design, CIP capability, and documentation structure align fully with ISO 22716 — the global GMP standard for cosmetics recognised by EU, FDA, and TGA.

⚙️

CE Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

All Kosmix machines carry full CE declaration with technical file and risk assessment — legally required for installation and operation in EU, EEA, and UK markets.

The KLM (Lab/Mid series) is designed for batch sizes of 50–500 L, with a more compact footprint suitable for pilot or medium-scale production. The KVM (Vacuum Manufacturing series) covers 500–5,000 L batches and features a larger homogeniser motor, enhanced heat transfer jacket, and extended recipe management for multi-shift OEM/ODM production. Both share the same GMP-compliant 316L stainless construction and PLC architecture.
Yes. The KFM supports interchangeable filling heads: peristaltic heads for low-viscosity serums (50–2,000 cP), piston heads for creams and lotions (2,000–80,000 cP), and gear pump heads for very high-viscosity products. Head changeover takes approximately 15 minutes. For factories running high SKU diversity, we recommend specifying two head sets at the time of order — one peristaltic, one piston.
Yes. The KM-RO produces water with conductivity below 10 μs/cm and bacterial counts below 100 CFU/mL — meeting the requirements of ISO 22716, EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) 1223/2009, and USP <1231> Purified Water. The built-in conductivity meter logs readings continuously; this data can form part of your GMP documentation and quality records. An optional EDI polishing module is available for ultra-pure water below 0.1 μs/cm (pharmaceutical grade).
The KCM capping machine and KTM labeling machine share the same conveyor system and PLC network. Line speed is synchronised by the master PLC — the KTM runs at the same BPM as the KCM, with a buffer conveyor between them to handle minor speed fluctuations. Both machines report OEE data and reject counts to the central HMI. The KTM vision system confirms label position and print quality before containers exit the line.
Kosmix provides: CE Declaration of Conformity, EN 10204 3.1 material certificates for all 316L stainless contact parts, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) report, equipment calibration records, IQ/OQ protocol templates aligned with ISO 22716, electrical and pneumatic schematics, and a full Operations & Maintenance manual. Performance Qualification (PQ) is conducted on-site during commissioning and documented for your validation file.
On-site commissioning includes: mechanical and electrical installation, utility connection verification, operational qualification batches (minimum 3 production runs), operator training on HMI, recipe management, CIP procedure, and basic maintenance. Our engineer stays on-site until your team is confident running the line independently. Remote support via TeamViewer and WhatsApp is provided at no additional cost for 12 months after commissioning.
Yes. We maintain stock of all consumable and wear parts — filling nozzles, seals, gaskets, RO membranes, UV lamps, and capping chucks — and ship internationally via DHL Express within 48 hours of order. A recommended Year 1 spare parts kit (identified during FAT for your specific configuration) can be included with the line at a discounted rate. Emergency spare parts are prioritised and can typically reach Europe or North America within 2–3 business days.
